Commercial Project: Strictly Cats - Cat Shows
Strictly Cats is an affiliated club of Felis Britannica in the UK, who are FIFe members (these are pedigree cat registries). The club is made up of members who have a keen interest in cats whether they are pet owners or breeders and they run a number of shows throughout the year.
I was commissioned by Strictly Cats, to photograph their cat shows. The goal was to provide high-quality images for their website, marketing materials, sponsors, and attendees.
My brief included capturing key moments such as Best in Show cats, judges examining cats, sponsor product placements, and special awards presentations.
I also set up a mini studio at the event so attendees could have professional portraits of their cats, including images with rosettes and trophies. All images were hosted on an automated online platform, allowing attendees to view, purchase, and download their images — typically within 48 hours.
Cats are my top priority. I work at their pace to ensure they aren’t stressed, engaging them through play, ask questions about their temperament, and use a variety of techniques to capture their attention. This results in beautiful, authentic images that owners are proud to purchase and display.
This project highlights my ability to combine event coverage, animal handling expertise, and client-focused solutions. Strictly Cats received professional images for marketing, promotional materials, and attendees purchased cherished keepsakes, with minimal stress for the animals.
